From the outside, dry vans and reefer trailers look nearly identical (minus the refrigeration unit). When deciding on the new vehicle for your fleet, ask yourself these questions:
What cargo is the trailer hauling? Does the cargo require consistent temperature control? Is it perishable or non-perishable? What is the load size?
The main difference between a dry van and a reefer van is temperature control. Keep reading to learn more about which trailer suits your needs.
Dry Vans
Dry vans typically haul dry goods like non-perishable foods, office supplies, furniture, clothing, boxed items, and other palleted materials. When you see a semi on the highway, it’s most likely a dry van carrying non-perishable goods.
Refrigerated Trailers
Reefer vans transport temperature-sensitive “wet” cargo, like fresh produce, frozen goods, dairy, pharmaceuticals, hazardous materials, and even artwork! Anything that requires consistent temperature regulation should be hauled in a refrigerated (reefer) van.
Hyundai Translead’s reefer trailer walls have pressure filled insulation in all wall cavities, providing a great quality of insulation value on every trialer. Hyundai offers fantastic insulation quality on the market, which allows temperatures to stay right where they are needed to satisfy your customer demands.

Anti-Corrosion Features
One of the many ways Hyundai Translead stands out is its Anti-Corrosion Package; it includes hot-dipped galvanization as a standard feature. Hot-dip galvanizing is the process of immersing fabricated steel into molten zinc combination of metals. It provides superior corrosion resistance, maintenance-free longevity, incredible durability, and is environmentally sustainable.
All Hyundai Translead steel components are hot dip galvanized to increase the vehicle’s life cycle. Remarkably, because of this galvanization, rust is greatly reduced and your trailer life cycle is greatly increased. You can spot galvanized steel by the surface’s crystallized pattern called a ‘spangle’ or a matte steel finish.
