Looking to see what drop deck semi-trailers are for sale and expand your fleet? Kingpin Trailers is a proud partner of Doonan Specialized Trailers and can set you up with a customized drop deck that suits whatever tasks you have in mind! There are plenty of options for customization, and our experts can help you find the loadout that best suits your needs.

Take a closer look at a few of the options available.

Flip Neck

The flip neck is a trailer neck extension that can flip into place through hydraulics. It gives you the option to extend or retract your trailer neck, changing the space between the truck and the trailer. This allows you to choose a neck length that suits the cargo you’re hauling, ensuring stability and manoeuvrability. This is especially useful on smaller trailers, which run into stability issues more frequently.

Detachable Gooseneck

A detachable gooseneck, as the name suggests, allows for the entire gooseneck portion of a flatbed trailer to be removed. This lets the bed be loaded from all sides, including the front, so the deck of a drop deck trailer can be accessed even if the sides are occupied. This option is highly popular, so be sure to check with our staff for availability to prevent any setbacks!

Crossfires

Tire pressure is a vital component of freight hauling. Under the massive weight they are expected to bear, poorly pressurized tires wear out faster and have a greater chance of being damaged, increasing overhead costs and frequently leading to delays.

Crossfires help to prevent this issue by attaching a small hose to the two tires in a dual-tire setup. As the vehicle moves and temperatures change, the hose shifts pressure from the hotter inside tire to the cooler outside tire, maintaining their relative pressure. Doing this, they absorb an equal amount of force from the road, slowing down the wear of both tires.

Sliding Winches

It can take time to do the job right in non-ideal circumstances. Stationary winches can make securing certain cargo configurations tricky, which is why we offer sliding winches on our drop deck trailers.

Housed in tracks on the sides of the trailer, they can move freely lengthwise before being secured in place for a tight grip on your cargo. Whether securing loads with straps or using our Verduyn tarps, this makes the process easier and the ride safer.

Extendible Bed

Do you expect to be hauling items too long for a normal truck bed? Our drop deck and flatbed trailers all have the option to be extendable. These beds can be extended to roughly double their length, allowing them to haul extremely long cargo like support beams. Deployment is fast, and it greatly increases the variety of items you can transport.
